#CLAIMYOURSTRENGTH – A TRIBUTE TO all the STRONG WOMEN
March is the month of International Women's Day.
It's also Women's History Month.
It's simply All Women's Month
– and I want to celebrate that.
My #claimyourstrength campaign pays tribute to strong women from all over the world who embody POWER.
Because what many women don't realize is that ALL women possess Amazonian levels of strength, energy and power.
Still fewer know how to access all that potential. As a metaphor for how much pure physical force you have access to, how much power is available in your muscles, think of your body as a state-of-the-art sound system and your brain as the volume control.
From a tender, soothing melody that puts a child to sleep to booming bass so thunderous it rattles windows a mile away, the range of power available to you is enormous. And you can turn it up or down on demand.
#claimyourstrength is about acknowledging, accessing and embracing your potential power. It's about being able to turn the volume of your life up and down from min. to max. at will, instead of being stuck in the middle somewhere. It's about being able to transition smoothly from 0 to 100 decibels and back again, depending on what your mind and body need at any given moment.
SO, HOW HIGH DO YOU DARE TURN IT UP?
In my work, I often see women stop well before they reach even the halfway mark of their potential. They assume the music of their life plays from a low-cost little speaker, so they stop turning the volume up for fear of distortion long before the party even gets started – far from their full potential for power.
It may feel like you've turned it up as far as you can go, but there's SO MUCH MORE power to be had!
Why? That's the million-dollar question.
My experience is that we tend to become what is called "neurally ineffective" – probably because we're not used to challenging ourselves enough. The brain simply doubts whether we can handle the forces involved and so turns on the brakes.
The first step in #claimyourstrength is therefore to (re)establish the confidence that you DO in fact have this massive reserve of strength. And that's where my work and my mission in life come in:
We MUST get more women to do strength training! Our muscles are our most important "pension plan" – they prevent many lifestyle diseases, code for an active life well into old age, keep our skin in good condition, and the list goes on.
By doing brain-based strength training, which is my method, you will work with both the nervous system and muscles, giving you the ability to:
♥️ Turn up your neural drive, which is the brain's ability to command the muscles.
♥️ Get the greatest possible amount of muscle mass to work at the same time, so you can get the greatest possible benefit from your training.
♥️ Turn that volume knob all the way up until bone-rattling, blow-the-roof-off bass becomes part of the soundtrack of your life.
MY CELEBRATION OF STRONG WOMEN
#claimyourstrength is a tribute to ALL women. And an invitation not to be complacent, but to take control of all the strength and power that your body naturally possesses. We have the potential to develop throughout our lives. It doesn't have to stop as we get older.
On the occasion of both International Women's Day and Women's History Month, I will therefore pay tribute to different strong women from all over the world here on my blog.
These women haven't allowed themselves to be weighed down by other people's expectations. They do not bow to anything or anyone. They have left their mark on history. And they continue to make history. They have turned up the volume completely. And they have made sure all the world hears them.
Let these women's stories be your inspiration to #claimyourstrength!
Feel free to post photos on Facebook or Instagram of the moments when you feel strongest and together we will build a world full of strong women.
